About one in five American adults admitted in a survey to having peed in the pool. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps even confessed back in that peeing in the pool is an acceptable thing to do. When we're in the pool for two hours, we don't really get out to pee.
Not only is peeing in the pool disgustingit results in harmful disinfectant byproducts DBPs being off-gassed from the water. Examples of these DBPs are chloramines specifically the airborne NCl 3Nitrogen Trichloridechloroform, cyanogen chloride and other trihalomethane gasses. They are harmful and cause swimmers like me to develop asthma and lifeguard lung.
